Sunday Funday

Sunday Funday

Each Sunday at camp was one of my favourite days of the week, can you tell why? That's right... It was my day off! I got to explore pretty much everything you could do in Lackawaxen and some more adventurous trips too! This blog post will primarily be photos from the places we visited leading into some stories from travelling after camp.

Before camp even kicked off the staff who arrived at camp slightly earlier than the rest were taken for a night out to get to know each other at Costas - a small amusement park with go karts, baseball cages, etc...

One of the first days off my group had was going to the most american shopping centre I had ever seen. 'The Mall' was about a 40 minute drive from camp and we wanted to fit in as many american things as we could like going to Macys, Victorias Secret, Wendys, Target and so on... I spend so much but I’m ok with it because I finally got my hands on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette!

The second day off was more eventful. One of our friends in the group was american and there for had her car at camp. We set off for Lake Wallenpaupack but we ended up in A&E for her to get an x-ray. Making the most of the hours we had waiting, we walked around a beautiful little town called Wayne County before making it to the lake, having lunch, sunbathing, going to the cinema and then for dinner at the fanciest restaurant dressed in swim suits and shorts...

Becoming more adventurous with our days off, on our third Sunday Funday we travelled over night to Philadelphia! This was such an incredible trip. We arrived late at night, slept and woke early to make the most of the one day we had. We walked to the famous Reading Terminal Market for breakfast, bought tickets for the city sight seeing bus and saw so many amazing things. I was nearing the end of watching the series Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia so I was really excited to be seeing areas where the show was filmed. We found the Rocky stairs and lets just say I gave it my best shot!

Our next day off was beautiful! We found a National Park and Waterfall called Bushkill Falls and we spent the afternoon walking through the forest. Not expecting the trek up and around the waterfalls we stupidly wore sandals and flip flops.

Keeping up this scale of days off, our last day off was a visit to NYC! After so many amazing days off i knew we would have the best time but i was speechless after visiting New York. Making sure we visited all the famous places like Central Park, Times Square, Broadway and 5th avenue and many, many more, from this one day i have the most amazing memories. My favourites being getting the chance to see Jimmy Fallon rehearse his show at NBC, eating lunch in Central Park, seeing Carlos Bakery and watching Chicago on Broadway!

Canada

I spent 5 days in Canada staying with my cousin i have not seen since the age of 8. I loved visiting all the places that I had so many memories and I was amazing I remembered them all! I met my cousins son and family, made a shirt at their printing store T-Bar in the Mont Tremblant Village (Check it out here!!), ate endless amounts of french toast and beaver tails as well as getting a pedicure in the same spa as the major or the city... crazy! It was also very special to be visiting during Canada 150 - 150 anniversary of Canada!

As I had a return flight from New York, to finish my trip I flew to JFK and spent the last few days of my America Adventure with my best friend. I couldn't have asked for a better last day. We walked around New York the whole day, I finally brought a bra from Victoria's Secret, had dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner,  watched Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway and I cried far too much.
